Bucaramanga in northern Colombia, on the border to Venezuela, is the location of El Roble. A 740 hectare organic farm owned by Oswaldo Acevedo. 226 of these make up the coffee plantation which houses seven different sub species of coffee for commercial production. Further, 60 different varieties make up a coffee garden. The incredibly beautiful farm, with a even cyclical weather all year round, differentiates itself from many other Colombian farms by only producing one harvest per year between November and January. The farm is fairly flat and is situated at 1,650 meters above sea level right next to, one of Colombiaís more spectacular canyons, Chicamocha. This creates the unique climate that adds to the farms character and coffee alike. It creates a cup full of intense flavor dominated by fresh red apples and toffee. Exceptional as a drip brew or a gentle aeropress, but also as an espresso.
