Additional Info
Bulambuli is a district in Eastern Uganda with so much potential. It is located near the Kenyan border on Mt. Elgon, with ideal terrain and climatic conditions for specialty coffee.

Our washed coffee has been named after an indigenous bird living in the Bulambuli forest. The name of this bird in Lugisu, the local dialect, is Zinule. We use it to refer to sweet, fragrant and intense washed coffees from Bulambuli.
Harvest and post-harvest
In Eastern Uganda, the harvest is between August and January. In the lowlands, the harvest runs between August and October, while in the higher altitudes, it’s from September until January.

The cherries are delivered to the washing station. After a thorough selection process and quality checks, the coffee is pulped fermented on site. It is then either dried directly at the washing station or taken to external drying yards in the town of Mbale. This gives us more control over the processing, as it is conducted by professionals who focus on achieving optimal results in quality and flavour profiles.
